Ms. Meher Van Groenou, M.S.W., M.A. (Education)
Ms. Meher Van Groenou, M.S.W., M.A. (Education), the Founder and Head of School at Montessori School at Five Canyons. Meher has early childhood Teacher certification from American Montessori Society. She has been in the education field for over 30 years, as a researcher, writer and conference presenter.. Ms. Van Groenou is a dedicated educator, and advocate for authentic Montessori educational practices in the classroom
Her contributions to the educational community include published research, leadership with the American Montessori Society Teachers Research Network, and service on the Board of Golden Oak Montessori. Her commitment to peace education, and stewardship for the environment continues to guide our school’s mission.
In recognition of her lifelong impact, Ms. Van Groenou was recently honored with the prestigious Living Legacy Award from the American Montessori Society. This distinguished award celebrates individuals who have made a lasting contribution to Montessori education.
Throughout her career, she has expanded access to these values by founding the Montessori School at Five Canyons, the Montessori Institute for Advanced Studies, and Twin Oaks Montessori Charter School. Her legacy remains an inspiration to the children, families, and educators within our community and beyond.
